Built from experience.
Clarity was built by a founder who spent years in family law. The observation behind it is a simple one: the clients who arrived having thought carefully about their situation were different to work with, and almost always achieved better outcomes. The billable model gives no lawyer the hours to make that the norm — so Clarity carries that work instead.
The workbooks came first: a structured way to think through every stage of separation before the formal process begins. Consultations followed, for readers who want a hand completing them. The firm licence comes third, because the people best placed to put these resources in the right hands are the solicitors already there.

— Clarity · Founded on experience inside the family law system
Built inside the system. Designed for those outside it.
Clarity Through Separation exists to close the gap between what lawyers know and what their clients don’t. We build structured, self-guided workbooks that take you through it a step at a time — divorce, finances, arrangements for children, and the difficult conversations that run alongside all of it. Not advice on your case. The map, the questions worth working through, and a clear place to set down your own answers — so you arrive prepared instead of catching up.
The principle behind it is a plain one: good preparation shouldn't be a privilege. It should be the starting point for everyone. The well-advised walk in ready; everyone else walks in cold. Clarity is built to change which of those is the default — drawing on years spent inside the family law process, turned into something anyone can use.
We also license these materials to law firms, taking the preparatory, un-billable work off the lawyer so the client arrives organised and the firm's time lands where it counts.
Plain English, always
Family law is full of jargon that excludes the people it most affects. Clarity uses plain language throughout — without sacrificing accuracy.
Accurate to the law
Every workbook is carefully researched and accurate to the law of England and Wales at the time of writing. It is preparation, not advice — but the information is sound.
England and Wales only
The law in England and Wales is distinct from Scotland and Northern Ireland. Clarity applies to England and Wales only, and says so clearly on every workbook.
Not a substitute for advice
Clarity is clear about what it is not. Preparation and legal advice are different things — both matter, in the right order.
Education and structure — not legal advice.
Clarity covers the law of England and Wales. It is education and structure — not legal advice, and never a substitute for advice from a solicitor about your own circumstances. If you'd like a hand working through the materials, our consultations help you complete them.
